More About Us
Our Retail
Colonial Folk Art Studio
Colonial Folk Art (CFA) is a small business in Williamsburg, Virginia, that has grown from a booth at the Williamsburg Antique Mall into a full brick-and-mortar working studio and gallery. Our two businesses -- Colonial Folk Art Studio and Juxtaposition Gallery and Gifts -- provide artists and art lovers with the opportunity to make art and buy art from local artists, including our artist-in-residence Beverly Burgdorf.
Since the earning her degrees in Studio Art and Art History from Converse College, Bevely has offered some of her work for sale to gift shops and art galleries. After opening CFA in 2014, she began selling to other businesses from California to New England to Florida. For the past three years, Colonial Folk Art has ramped up offering Beverly's handmade creations in a more direct way to other businesses.
As you look through Beverly's work, you will see that it is designed to be fun and whimsical. The subjects and forms are also designed to appeal to a variety of customers with various price points and interests. All of the selections we offer for wholesale are unique, handmade items. Each piece of art is made in our Williamsburg, Va., studio and each piece is unique -- even if the subject matter is the same.
There are two media that Beverly creates for wholesale -- ceramics and mixed-media paintings.
As a small gallery, we understand the importance of a fair price point to allow our clients to make a profit, especially other small galleries and gift stores. To that end, we work diligently to maintain fair and reasonable wholesale prices so that your business can profit from our items.
We do not set minimum or maximum retail prices. You know what your local market will support.
We also work with our clients to prevent saturating a particular market. If our art is being sold by another business in your area, we reserve the right not to sell the same items to your business and vice versa. This keeps your store and your fellow galleries and gift stores from unnecessary saturation of a product.
From the Williamsburg Antique Mall, CFA grew into a brick & mortar open studio under the direction of artist Beverly Burgdorf.
Juxtaposition is the outgrowth of CFA featuring unique items made by local Tidewater Virginia artists, including our artist, Beverly Burgdorf.
